Hampton Roads, Virginia
Every student deserves someone in their corner.
Being present changes everything — and you make being present possible. CISofHR places dedicated Site Coordinators inside schools across all seven Hampton Roads cities, removing barriers so students can stay in school and achieve in life.

Original Series · The Invisible Backpack
Every student carries something you can't see. No student should carry it alone.
A ten-part animated series that turns the invisible weight students carry — hunger, housing, caregiving, isolation — into stories you can't look away from. Behind every barrier is a child, never the other way around.
How It Works
Wrap-around support, inside the school building.
Our Site Coordinators aren't support staff down the hall. They're in the classroom, in the hallway, at the lunch table — building trust that makes students believe someone is truly there for them. Our tiered model meets every student where they are.
Tier I: School-Wide Supports
Services and activities that create a positive climate for every student — anti-bullying programs, assemblies, college fairs, and school-wide incentives.
Tier II: Group Interventions
Small-group programs for students sharing common barriers — tutoring cohorts, SEL groups, and attendance recovery, with measurable goals.
Tier III: One-on-One Case Management
Intensive, personalized support connecting our most vulnerable students with critical resources and consistent daily advocacy.
The Evidence
The numbers behind the relationships.
Our results are independently verified and published annually. CISofHR is part of the nationally recognized Communities In Schools® evidence-based model — validated by Harvard and Cornell research.
