A CISofHR Series
The Invisible Backpack
Every student carries one. Most people never see it.
An illustrated weekly series that tells the truth about what students carry into school — and what changes when someone finally helps them set it down. No real names. No student photos. Just the stories, drawn from the work.
The Idea
What's inside the backpack?
Every morning, students walk in carrying more than books. Hunger. A night with no power. Grief they can’t name. Fear of going home. The weight of being the one nobody asks about. It’s invisible — until a Site Coordinator notices, and starts to help carry it. That’s the whole series: what students carry, and what presence can lift.
How It Works
New episode every week.
Illustrated
Every episode is illustrated — protecting student privacy while telling a real story.
Weekly
A short new episode each week, following the school year from first bell to graduation.
From the student's side
Told from where the student sits — so you see what presence actually changes.
