Frequently Asked Questions

Answers, up front.

The questions we hear most — from families, volunteers, donors, and schools.

For Families

What does a Site Coordinator do?

Our Site Coordinator is a full-time, trained professional inside your child’s school who removes barriers to success — connecting students and families to resources, running supports, and being a consistent, caring adult every day.

Does it cost anything?

No. CISofHR services come at no cost to students, families, or schools. We fundraise to cover the cost of placing a coordinator in each building.

How do I connect with the coordinator at my school?

Visit our Schools page to confirm we’re in your building, then reach out through our Contact page and we’ll connect you.

For Volunteers

Do I need special training to volunteer?

No. You just need to show up. We’ll match your skills, schedule, and interests to opportunities — from mentoring and tutoring to skills workshops and events.

How much time does it take?

Whatever you can give. Some volunteers commit weekly; others help at a single event. We’ll find a fit.

For Donors & Partners

Where does my donation go?

Every dollar funds the presence of a Site Coordinator — the daily relationships that change outcomes. A full year of a coordinator in one school is about $83,500.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. CISofHR is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit; your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

How can my company or foundation partner?

Visit our Partner With Us page or contact Hallie Baumgardner, our Community Engagement Coordinator, to find the right fit.

For Schools & Districts

How do we bring CISofHR to our school?

We’re actively growing toward 50 schools by 2030. School and district leaders can start the conversation through our Partner With Us page.

How is CISofHR different from what our counselors already do?

Our coordinator complements your existing staff — running a full needs assessment, coordinating community resources, and carrying a dedicated caseload, with measurable outcomes reported back to you.
